My name is Agapi Ioakeimidou, I am 21 years old, I grew up in the centre of Athens and I am in the fourth year of my studies. This year I have the pleasure and the honour of taking up the position of Vice President for Professional Development of ELSA Athens.
When I entered Law School, I was looking for two things: people with whom I would feel I belonged, and ways to discover what I wanted to do in an inaccessible professional world. ELSA, and the PD Area in particular, gave me both, through experiences, opportunities and people who made my student journey more meaningful.
My goal for this year is for us to keep developing a practical and modern Area. Through our activities, I want students to gain real experiences, coming closer to the professional world at a time when legal practice is constantly changing.
Above all, though, I want everyone who takes part in our activities to feel what I felt when I first joined ELSA: that it is a space where you can grow and find people who will support you along the way!
