ELSA is an international, independent, non-political, non-profit organisation active in the field of legal science, aimed primarily at law students, trainees and young lawyers. It was founded on 04.05.1981 in Vienna by five law students from different European countries and today counts 43 National Groups, 356 Local Groups and approximately 50,000 members across Europe. ELSA Greece (the European Law Students’ Association of Greece) is the Greek group of ELSA (European Law Students’ Association) and has been a member of the international confederation ELSA International since 1990. It consists of 3 local groups: ELSA Athens, ELSA Thessaloniki and ELSA Komotini.
ELSA Greece has operated as a federation of associations since 2008 (decision no. 643/2008 of the Single-Member Court of First Instance of Athens).
Our Aim
To bring together law students and young professionals from different countries and to foster mutual understanding, communication and social awareness, through cooperation in the fields of legal science, education and the legal professions. In addition, the organisation’s aims include familiarising members with the legal systems of other countries and with international relations, by engaging with foreign legal orders and international law, as well as through personal meetings and the sharing of personal experiences.

The ELSA Greece Alumni is the official association of graduates of the ELSA Greece network. In cooperation with the international alumni network of ELSA Alumni, ELSA Greece Alumni was founded to provide know-how and advice to ELSA Greece.
Through its work, ELSA Greece Alumni aspires to support the efforts of ELSA Greece, with the goal of registering the alumni of the national network so that ELSA Greece can reach out to them more easily, make use of the contacts and services alumni can offer, and secure future financial support for the national federation. Furthermore, through the EDED Council, ELSA Greece Alumni is a steady companion in supporting ELSA Greece’s largest academic undertaking, the National Moot Court Competition.
