My name is Maria Remoundou, I am 21 years old and this year I have the honour and pleasure of serving as Vice President for Academic Activities of ELSA Greece.
My journey in the organisation began three years ago, when an information presentation was the starting point for my involvement with ELSA. Since then, the organisation has left its own mark on my everyday life, giving me the opportunity to work with creative people and to live unique experiences. The culmination of this journey was my position as Secretary General at the local group of ELSA Thessaloniki, where the moments I lived, the activities we carried out and, above all, the most wonderful people who surrounded it did not let me close this chapter.
This year, wishing to give back to an organisation that has given me so much, I decided to take on the Academic Activities Area, with the aim of strengthening the organisation in an Area that promotes human rights and social responsibility.
The pillars of my term this year are the promotion of the human rights campaign, the prioritisation of the ROLE programme in schools, thus offering ELSA the chance to come into contact with secondary education and to promote the values of the rule of law, as well as the successful delivery of the 6th National Negotiation Competition.
With respect for the excellent work of my predecessors and the high academic standard they left behind, but also with a desire for the continuous development of the Area, I hope that we will leave our own mark, focusing on people and their values.
