My name is Christina Liakou, I am 19 years old and this year, in the second year of my studies, I have the particular pleasure of serving as Secretary General of ELSA Athens.
My journey in the organisation began just 12 months ago, as a Specialised Collaborator for Internal Management. Today, a year later, I can say with certainty that ELSA is a special experience: a world of activities, conferences and events; an embrace of people, feelings and bonds. It embodies the idea of the team and everything it can achieve when its vision is “a just world with respect for human dignity and cultural diversity”. That is exactly why I wanted to continue my “ELSA” journey from a position that allows me to contribute even more actively to legal education and to the empowerment of the association’s members.
My vision for this year is a Secretariat that is accessible to members and directly responsive to their needs. I also aim for the well-being of ELSA Athens’ human resources, by shaping a pleasant, creative and cooperative atmosphere. Finally, I pledge to ensure that the association’s internal management evolves in line with modern conditions, with absolute respect for the organisation’s principles and values.
