My name is Dimitra Liaka, I am 22 years old and this year I have the pleasure and honour of serving as Treasurer of ELSA Athens.
My own journey in ELSA began as early as the first year of my studies, with my participation in the association’s activities, which gave me the chance to get to know ELSA’s work better, and to meet people who inspired me deeply with their dedication and passion for the Organisation. So I decided to take on a more active role, initially as a Specialised Collaborator for Financial Management at ELSA Greece and, the following year, to continue my journey by taking the same position at ELSA Athens.
My goals this year focus on strengthening the association’s financial stability, developing channels of communication with potential sponsors and making use of every possible resource, so that we can successfully carry out all our activities. Another goal of mine is to continue the important work of my predecessors and to ensure the right conditions for the smooth and effective operation of the treasury in the future.
The financial management Area is not simply operational. It is the one that gives foundation and support to all the dreams and ideas we have as a team. And in this effort we all share the same vision: to continue and strengthen ELSA’s dynamic course by promoting legal knowledge and cooperation, with respect for the values of justice and solidarity.
