My name is Ioanna Kalogeropoulou and for this academic year I will have the great pleasure and honour of serving as Secretary General of ELSA Athens. I am 21 years old, I was born and raised in Athens, and this year I am starting the fourth year of my studies at the Athens Law School.
My first contact with ELSA Athens was when, at the beginning of the first year of my studies, I found myself at the association’s information event. Even so, it was only last year, in my third year, that I applied for the position of Specialised Collaborator in the Internal Management Area. I spent a year carrying out my duties both in person and remotely, helping the association’s secretariat in whatever way I could and, with every step, getting to know both the organisation and its people more deeply. So my contact with ELSA’s vision, and with the people who embody it at any given time, led me to run for the position of Secretary General.
My goal for this year, then, is, continuing the thriving work of my predecessors, to ensure the smooth operation of the association and especially of its internal processes. At the same time, I wish to strengthen communication with our members, so that they too come into direct contact with ELSA’s vision and make the most of all the opportunities it offers. Finally, most importantly, we will continue to cultivate a safe, supportive and creative environment for the whole team, proving in practice that the soul and strength of ELSA are its people!
