My name is Mariela Liakou, I am 21 years old and I am in the 4th year of my studies at the Athens Law School. This academic year I have the particular pleasure and honour of serving as Vice President for Marketing at ELSA Athens.
My involvement with the association began in the second year of my studies, as part of the 57th NCM, and continued the following academic year when I was selected as a Specialised Collaborator in the Professional Development Area. Last year, then, I had the chance to get to know the network better, to take an active part in organising activities, to come into contact with people I value and admire for their dedication, faith and meticulous work, and to gain experiences that have already left their mark on my student years. What I realised in depth, however, is how important it is to belong to a team that devotes its time and energy to achieving a common goal, to be inspired by the people around you, and to create something of value for the student community. Something that would not be the same if you had not shared it with your team!
My main aim for this year is to continue along the successful steps of my predecessors, promoting our Local Group while strengthening our dynamic presence on social media, so that more and more students come into contact not only with the world of legal science, but also with our network’s vision, and discover where the journey at ELSA Athens can take them. Let us all together make this academic year unforgettable too, with experiences that stay with us and opportunities that open up through our very own ELSA!
