My name is Odysseas-Charalampos Komninos, I am 20 years old, I am in the third year of my studies at the Athens Law School and this year I have the pleasure and honour of serving as President of ELSA Athens.
Already from my first year, as a member of the organising committee for the Summer School and, last year, in the position of Specialised Collaborator for Seminars and Conferences, I came to know the needs and prospects of the Group, developed skills and, above all, built relationships and friendships that drove me to continue this journey.
The aim of this year’s term is to establish ELSA as an association with an outward-looking character, an interdisciplinary face and an approachable atmosphere across the full range of its activities. Suitable strategic planning will safeguard the achievements of our predecessors, give rise to new collaborations and activities, and broaden the association’s active presence in everyday student life, within the framework of achieving the goals of this year’s Board.
Although these challenges become even more important, especially at a time when the standing of the public university is under attack, I am optimistic that, with the assistance of the rest of the Board of ELSA Athens, our vision will be realised as a contribution to our fellow students and to the academic community as a whole.
Thank you for your trust!
