Paressa Marmaridou

Vice President in charge of Professional Development (PD)

“Dear network,

My name is Paressa Marmaridou, I am 21 years old and this year I have the pleasure of serving as Vice President for Professional Development at ELSA Thessaloniki.

My contact with ELSA began in my school years, when law students visited my classroom as part of ELSA4Schools. As a student, however, the first time I took part in an activity of the organisation was at the ENC in 2024, when ELSA gave me the chance to compete in something I am passionate about without being a part of it. The feelings I experienced during my time in the competition led me to become part of the organisation myself last academic year.

Through this experience, and having lived many new moments, I am really looking forward to this academic year, to organising creative activities, adding my own touch to them and meeting new, ambitious people. Above all, however, I look forward to experiencing again, and more deeply, all the feelings that come from being part of a team with a vision, which makes it so hard for everyone to leave ELSA.

As far as the Professional Development Area is concerned, my personal aim is to enrich the Area with new ideas and to work hard with my team, so that the real “development” that the Area already promises in its very title can be achieved.

I recognise that in such a multifaceted Area I still have a lot to learn; however, I pledge that my dedication and love for the organisation will drive me to work, together with the other members of the Board, for the development of the Area and of ELSA more broadly.”
