Last week the first part of the bilateral study visit planned by ELSA Thessaloniki together with ELSA Istanbul took place. Nineteen people from our association had the pleasure of spending six full days in the largest city in Turkey, in a programme with strong cultural, social and above all academic elements, which had been specially prepared for us by the organising committee of the local group.
Among other things, they had the opportunity to visit the Greek consulate, the Mediation and Arbitration Centre, the law firm White&Case and the Istanbul Bar Association, the largest bar association in the world. In addition, they toured the most important cultural monuments of the City, such as Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, to name a few.
It was certainly an important travel experience, through which they came to know to some extent everyday life in Istanbul and came a little closer to Turkish culture, while it certainly provided the occasion for future friendships and closer cooperation between the two neighbouring groups.
We would like to especially thank everyone who helped and contributed to making this beautiful result happen, and as ELSA Thessaloniki we look forward to returning the hospitality.
