We are very pleased to announce that the Hellenic Federation of Prison Officers (O.S.Y.E.) and the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA Greece) are organising, on Thursday 27/5 at 18:00, an online event on the theme “Detention Conditions in Greece in Light of the Council of Europe Report”. The aim of the event is to highlight the state of the national prison system and specific issues on which the latest report of the special Committee of the Council of Europe on the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT for short) sheds light.
There will be a brief presentation of the current situation and the content of the Report, while the keynote speakers are:
Marinos Skandamis, Doctor of Law, former Secretary General for Crime Policy & Head of the Citizen Protection Sector.
Konstantinos Karagounis, former Deputy Minister of Justice, Chair of the Special Standing Committee of the Hellenic Parliament on the prison system & Member of Parliament.
Dionysios Kalamatianos, Lawyer, Deputy Head of the Citizen Protection Sector & Member of Parliament.
